Per a Wisconsin law enacted in 1999, every Wisconsin community must have an official plan that details how each the community wishes to grow in the next 20 years. It must include its goals, objectives, policies, and process for achieving its desired growth. Any future mapping, land division, or zoning ordinances must be consistent with that plan. Mercer’s Updated Plan must be completed by 2025.
The Town of Mercer Planning Commission will be developing Mercer’s Comprehensive Plan, and will be holding several public participation sessions. The Mercer Public Library will post notices of these meetings at least a week in advance. We’ll post the notices on our lobby bulletin board and on the library’s website. Visit mercerpubliclibrary.org/category/mercercomprehensiveplan for a copy of all of the documents we have received from the Planning Commission.
Read the newsletter below for more information about the process.
