Memory Lab & Digitization Equipment
The Mercer Memory Lab contains equipment for digitizing photos, slides and negatives, VHS tapes, sound reels, LPs and cassettes, and 8mm and Super 8 film. Library staff uses the equipment for collecting local history documents and artifacts, but the equipment is also available to the public.
Equipment in the Memory Lab includes:
- Windows 10 computer
- Epson Perfection V600 scanner for photos, film, negatives, and documents
- Funai Combination VCR and DVD Recorder for digitizing VHS tapes
- Teac CD Recorder with cassette and turntable for digitizing LP records and cassette tapes
- Elgato video capture card for capturing video from camcorders and other devices with component video output
- Wolverine Film2Digital MovieMaker for scanning 8mm and Super 8 video. This device can only handle reels up to 5″ in diameter.
- Comb binding machine for binding pages with plastic comb binders
- Silhouette Cameo 3 plotter/cutter with Silhouette Studio software
