The Friends of the Mercer Public Library will hold their annual Fall Celebration on Saturday, September 14th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The event will feature hors d’oeuvres; desserts; beer, wine, and soda; Book Basket raffles; and the very popular “Dine Around” gift certificate pull. We’ll also enjoy live music by Chris Skinner. Feel free to stop in for an hour or stay all afternoon! There’s no cost to attend and the event is open to everyone in the community.
All proceeds from the Dine Around, raffle tickets, and donations will benefit the Friends of the Mercer Public Library, who fund library programming, equipment, and special projects throughout the year. Thank you for your support!

Get your tickets for our popular Book Basket Raffle! Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. Tickets are available at the library from August 12th to September 20th and will be available at the Fall Celebration. Winners will be drawn on Friday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the library, and you need not be present to win.

What’s the “Dine Around”? It’s a fantastically fun activity where everyone’s a winner! You pay a flat amount for a wrapped gift, and you’re guaranteed to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant or other business for at least the amount you paid for it. The Dine Around was so popular that it sold out in about an hour last year, so don’t delay if you want to play!

Discovery Flight with Brian Baltz
For the first time, the Friends are offering a limited-ticket, limited-time raffle! This year’s raffle includes a 45-60 Discovery Flight for 2 people with Brian Baltz from Baltz Aviation and a $100 gift certificate to either Little Bohemia or Manny’s Parkside (winner chooses). Brian Baltz is able to fly 2 people from Manitowish Waters (maximum weight of 400lbs) and recommends that the flight be booked in the last two weeks of September to maximum the fall views!
Tickets will be on sale from Thursday, September 12 at 9:00am through Saturday September 14 and there is a limit of 100 tickets sold! The winner will be drawn at 4:30pm on Saturday, September 14 and need not be present to win.
